There’s something pretty special about spending a weekend doing what you love most. ❤️

It may not have been the biggest event or the highest level, but I couldn’t have asked for a more fun weekend out eventing — and I’m pretty sure that’s the whole point. 🥰

🌟 Global Quarycrest won the Open Novice, and his buddy Kamden Legacy finished 3rd!

Carlos is a true been-there, done-that kind of guy, and he was an absolute professional all weekend. He put in a lovely 27.2 on the flat and made the whole job look easy.

Kamden is getting stronger and more confident in the jumping phase every time out, and he’s really starting to look the part of a proper event horse. ❤️

I’m so, so happy with both of these horses and incredibly grateful for weekends like this — good horses, good sport, and doing what I love.

Now… back to dressage land, because Regionals are right around the corner! 💃🏼🐴

Don’t overlook your horse’s very basic need…OXYGEN!

How do you prepare every system of the equine athlete for peak performance?

We condition for strength. Train for endurance. Manage nutrition, soundness, and recovery.
But the respiratory system—the system working behind every stride—is often given far less attention.

During intense exercise, a horse’s respiratory demand increases dramatically. Because horses are obligate nasal breathers, every breath must pass through the nasal passages. At peak effort, a horse can move more than 1,500 liters of air per minute, placing significant demands on the respiratory system.

That’s respiratory load: the work required to move enough air in and out to meet the body’s rising oxygen demands.

And because oxygen supports energy production, muscle function, and recovery, respiratory load doesn’t affect breathing alone. It can influence the entire performance effort. Preparing the equine athlete should include managing the demands placed on the respiratory system.

Performance starts at the nose.

🥇 GOLD MEDAL!!! 🥇

I AM SPEECHLESS. ELATED. EMOTIONAL. And honestly… still trying to process this!!! 🤩🐴✨

Today, I earned my USDF Gold Medal with a final score of 66.957%!!! 🥇🏆

And I have to say it loud: EXCALIBUR RS, YOU ARE INCREDIBLE. ❤️

This horse has taught me SO much. He has shared his unbelievable talent, athleticism, generosity, and willingness with me every step of the way. I am endlessly grateful for everything he has given me and for every lesson he has taught me.

And the best part? He owes me absolutely nothing. ❤️🐴

I owe SO much to my horses and to my entire team. There are more people to thank than I could ever fit into one post—every person who has supported me, coached me, groomed, trained, encouraged, believed, celebrated, and helped get us to this moment… THANK YOU. This medal belongs to all of you, too. ❤️

It’s hard to believe that in January I rode my very first I-1 test, and now—just months later—I have my USDF Gold Medal!!! 🤯🥇

What a journey. What a privilege. What a horse. What a team. What a day!!!

I am SO, SO, SO HAPPY!!! 🥹❤️🎉

And while I am absolutely going to celebrate this moment, I also know there is plenty of room to improve, learn, grow, and keep chasing the next goal. That’s part of what makes this sport so incredibly addictive!

Today, though, I’m going to soak it ALL in. ❤️
