Feeling melancholy. Just sold the Crêpe machines…like saying goodbye forever to an old friend…

Will never forget.

Will never forget.

Twenty-one years ago, our City was attacked and the world came to know what New Yorkers have always known – that the dedicated members of the FDNY will stop at nothing to save lives. We cannot forget the images of exhausted and grieving Firefighters who searched relentlessly through rubble to recover members and civilians in the aftermath of the attacks. As we look back with gratitude at the bravery of those who risked everything in service to others, we renew our pledge to “Never Forget” all who were lost 21 years ago. The memory of innocent lives lost and of the 343 Firefighters and Officers who made the Supreme Sacrifice is forever embedded in our hearts and minds.

The FDNY Foundation is grateful to our friends and supporters who stood by the FDNY through the tragedy of 9/11. The Department’s rebuilding efforts undertaken after 9/11 were unprecedented in scope and magnitude. The FDNY Foundation has been there every step of the way, funding state-of-the-art equipment and training for Fire and EMS, fueling innovation and helping the Department reach out to the public with educational programs that save lives. Twenty-one years later, the FDNY is more resilient and stronger than ever.

We will “Never Forget” the 343 members who perished on that terrible day and the hundreds of FDNY members who have since lost their lives to 9/11 related illnesses. We will continue to always support the families of members who succumb to illnesses attributed to the World Trade Center response. FDNY members and their families live every day with the pain caused by 9/11, and we are determined to always stand with them.

The FDNY Foundation and our Board of Directors send our sincerest thanks, gratitude, and appreciation to all our FDNY members for the extraordinary work they do on a daily basis protecting the lives and property of New York City residents and visitors. The men and women of the FDNY continue to carry on the legacies of those who lost their lives by continuing to do their work with unwavering dedication and unmatched heroism.

Another failed "repair" job by Andy Skokos, landlord and proprietor of Gifts By Tina. After 4 years of requesting replacement for the rotted out entrance, the door came off in my hands this morning. Numerous voiced concerns for the safety and security of my cafe have been met with "That's what you have insurance for." I imagine if it were the entrance to HIS business, this would have been appropriately addressed years ago. Can you think of a better word to describe my landlord? I have a few...

Long before it became a trend, this delish condiment/salad/dip was a cornerstone on our “Always Fresh and Healthy” menu. Try it in our Southwest Crepe, Southwest Super Salad, Vegan Joe, or as a side served with tortilla chips. It’s nothing short of simply amazing!

A customer asked if we could, and if we would....and yes! We did! 35 layers of paper thin crêpes--maybe more, I lost count! Between each layer, a whipped cream and cream cheese filling with lots and lots of fresh strawberries--again I lost count. Can you imagine if we made this gluten-free? Hmmmm.
