I used to have the blackest thumb imaginable—every plant I touched seemed to die! 😅

But in January 2020, just before COVID, the Lord placed it on my heart to start a garden and raise chickens and rabbits. That was the beginning of our homesteading journey. I did tons of research and watched countless YouTube videos about homesteading and gardening. Somehow our little garden thrived. This picture was from May 2020, our first garden. The kids loved planting seeds and picking the fruit (and veggies) of our labor.

Since then, our little farm has grown in ways I never could have imagined. We got goats, pigs, cows, and many more animals. We loved our little farm in the pecan grove in Florida.

In 2024, we moved and had to start over from scratch—building new barns, putting up fencing, building pens, and rebuilding the infrastructure that makes a homestead work. It has been a tremendous amount of hard work!

Yet through all the sweat, long days, and challenges, it has become one of the richest and most rewarding lives we could have asked for. ❤️ Every season teaches us something new, and we’re so grateful for this journey.

Last calf of the season born today 😍 …andddd it’s a girl!!

This little red calf was born last week. Every other calf born this year has been black. In my best Maury voice: “Jammin’… (our black bull) you are NOT the father.” 😂 Peep the baby daddy in the back.
