I totally believe in the right to bear arms as stated in the 2nd amendment. I also understand the need to follow the laws of the state of CA however misguided they are. We operate under the guidance of the SD County sheriff’s department and state and federal law. I have a problem with those laws. I have to decide if a person is safe and competent to carry a concealed firearm in a public place . 99% of the time that is an easy decision. If you are a reasonably physically and mentally competent person , I have no problem failing you for being an unsafe as***le. When I have an elderly person whose physical skills are degraded, he can’t meet the shooting qualification but he can handle his weapon safely. Why would I deny a person who is obviously only capable of defending himself or her self from a violent attacker by having lethal force available to them a permit. Obviously ther is a right versus public safety issue. But in my mind making an arbitrary you must be able to place so many rounds I. A target at certain distances is not a way to decide if somebody should have a permit to carry. Let me know what you think. This is not a click bait post I want serious thoughts on this.
