Every year we donate 25% of the purchase price of our toffee to someone in need. This year we are helping out a young man through our friends, the Rico family.
I am including the link to the Give Send Go fundraiser so you can read about “Vincent,” and his needs. (Name changed for privacy.)
You may remember a few years ago we helped out the Rico family. We raised money for them 2 years in a row. Their son, Tanner, had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and was confined to a wheelchair. When he was 15, he got cancer. He fought hard for 2 years, but his body was not strong enough to handle both deadly diseases, and he passed away at age 18. Tanner was an incredible kid. Despite his suffering, he kept a positive attitude, and even wanted to become a motivational speaker! He always said he was fighting “for his brothers” with DMD and wanted to help anyone he possibly could. It was through the DMD community that the Ricos met “Vincent.”Vincent is the same age as Tanner, and now he is the one that needs help. Tanner’s mom, dad, and sister are stepping up to help him, just as they know Tanner would want.
My goal is to bless the Ricos for their selflessness and sacrifice, paying them back, at least financially, for their personal investment in improving this young man’s living situation. Even though they are still grieving the loss of their own son, they have stepped up to help someone else. And they are trying to raise the money that Vincent’s “new” family needs to buy a vehicle that is adapted for his wheelchair. Please read more in the link below. Order your toffee today!
