Today, I found myself needing to change the name of our business. Our story began almost 10 years ago when I discovered that I was really good at cooking and that I could learn to cook or bake just about anything I set my mind to.
One Sunday, my family came over for dinner, and I made churros for dessert. They loved them so much that they encouraged me to start selling them.
Not long after, someone gave me the opportunity to sell my churros at their restaurant and offered me a small space where I could sell them on weekends.
Later, my parents gave us a loan, and we bought our very first “Churro Mobile”a homemade trailer that I still remember with so much love. That’s how Los Churros del Norte was born. We chose that name because we are proudly from Northern Mexico, specifically Delicias, Chihuahua. At first, we only sold churros and sopaipillas, but every time people saw us, they would ask, “Where are the tacos?” 😁After hearing that question enough times, we finally started selling tacos, and little by little we added more Mexican food to our menu.I remember being at a catering event when a gentleman told me that it was only natural for someone like me to sell tacos because I was a Mexican woman. 🙈🤣 Without realizing it, his words motivated me to go back to school for the second time. While studying to become a chef, I had also trained as a CNA, volunteered with the Red Cross, took care of my family, and continued running our business. There were days when I sat in my car and cried because it all felt like too much. I felt guilty for leaving my children and my husband, who underwent two brain surgeries. Looking back, though, I believe it was one of the best decisions I ever made.Today, I am a chef, and I run our small business with the same love I had when I first started, the same determination, and the same joy of seeing your smiles with every bite.
We have faced many challenges along the way, but we have also learned that there is always someone facing an even greater struggle. That is why we keep moving forward, grateful for every opportunity life gives us.Throughout this journey, we have met so many wonderful people whom we are now proud to call friends.
Thank you all for allowing us to serve you, support you, and be a part of your lives.
The name Los Churros del Norte has been with us for many years, and I never felt the need to change it, until recently. While our name may be changing, our heart remains the same: a hardworking family, proudly Mexican, cooking from the heart and grateful for every customer, every event, and every opportunity.
Thank you for being part of our story and for joining us as we begin this new chapter. ❤️The name may change, but the passion behind every dish never will.
