Today, we honor Robert Wilson Sanders Jr.—a man whose legacy runs deep through Okatee River Farms.
For our family, farming has never been just about the land. It is about the people who came before us, the lessons they taught us, the hard work they poured into these fields, and the responsibility we carry to keep it going for those who come after us.
Wilson was a meaningful part of that legacy. His love for this family, this land, and the farming life helped shape the reason we are still here today, continuing to do what our family has done for generations.
Every season we plant, every field we tend, and every day we choose to keep farming is, in part, a tribute to those who made it possible for us to be here.
We will miss Wilson deeply. But his legacy will continue to live on at this farm, in our family, and in the work we are blessed to carry forward. Rest in peace “Willie” August 30, 1941 - August 11, 2026 ❤️

Good morning everyone! We are open today 8/8 from 9am-2pm or until we sell out. Burleys bakery will also be joining us today so come get your fresh sourdough bread! It is bittersweet that we have approached our last day in the summer season, lots of great conversation with the ones that support us and thanks for trusting us to provide great fruits and vegetables for everyone! We are looking forward to the fall season and will be working hard to get the field ready over the next couple of weeks and will be giving updates for you guys as we go! Good Thursday morning 8/6. We will be open 10-5 today. Friday 10-5 and Saturday 9-2.
This will likely be the last weekend that we are open for the season. We brought my father in law home on hospice this week and we will be giving him all the love and attention. Our little tribe will be taking turns prepping the fields for fall crops while we also spend time with Wilson. Please pray for our family and the amazing team that work here with us!

Good Wednesday morning 8/5. Come join us today and pick up your fresh sourdough bread and pasture raised chicken. The farm will be open 10-5 and bread and chicken will be available from 10-2 or earlier if they sell out. We will have the last batch of blackberries today along with peaches, tomatoes, cantaloupe, butterbeans, peas, squash and more. Hope everyone has a great day 😊
