As preparations begin for OMF26, the public should be aware that event-related traffic will begin increasing prior to the festival itself.
Beginning Monday, vendor equipment, support vehicles, tractor trailers, and other festival infrastructure will start arriving in the area as crews begin building out the event footprint. These deliveries will occur throughout the week and motorists traveling in the area should use caution and expect an increase in large truck traffic, equipment movement, temporary traffic adjustments, and a heavy law enforcement presence at key intersections to assist with traffic flow and safety.
Additionally, traffic in Okeechobee County is already elevated due to the County Fair, which brings many visitors into the community. With the combination of both events, motorists should plan ahead, allow additional travel time, and exercise patience while traveling through the area. We ask our local residents to show a little grace to those who may be visiting our community for the first time and may not be familiar with our roadways.
For attendees who have already purchased tickets, Will Call services will be available March 18 and March 19, 2026, at the Okeechobee County Cattlemen’s Arena, located at 1885 U.S. Highway 441 North in Okeechobee, where patrons may pick up previously purchased tickets prior to the event. Taking advantage of these early pickup opportunities can help reduce congestion at the festival entrance and streamline entry once the event begins.
Residents should also be aware that restaurants, grocery stores, fuel stations, and other retail locations throughout the county may experience longer lines and heavier than normal customer traffic as festival attendees begin arriving. Planning errands ahead of time and allowing extra time while out in the community will help reduce frustration for everyone.
The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office will have deputies working throughout the area to assist with traffic management and public safety. We appreciate the cooperation of our residents and visitors as we work together to keep everyone safe while welcoming guests to our community.
