It makes us very proud to see “Blue Mitten Farms” on the menus and tables of the finest restaurants in Michigan, but as the next school year quickly approaches, we had to take a moment to smile and cherish these tokens of community engagement and appreciation. We’ve worked very hard to build and maintain these farm to school relationships and fight for programs like 10 Cents a Meal. Looking forward to another great school year feeding Michigan students and faculty.

Farmer Phil was back at the Michigan State Capitol today testifying on behalf of 10 Cents A Meal which was cut from the 2026 budget. It is a no-brainer, tiny bit of funding that incentivizes schools to buy Michigan grown fruits and veggies. Support healthy food for better education grown by Michigan farmers in your own communities. What’s not to love? Let’s get it back in the next budget!
