Blue Mitten Farms

Compost pile brag post:

Hydroponic pea tendril roots. So clean. That’s how we guarantee our crisp flavor and unmatched shelf life.

The total harvest and packing waste from 45 cases of lettuce today. Beyond the extremely minimal waste for such production; the lettuce we sweep off the floor looks as good as most salads you’re served from the mega farms 2k+ miles away and won’t ever make you sick.

Support local!

Keep it local.
Keep it fresh.
Keep it safe!

Thank you to The Mayfair Bar and patrons for your continued support!

🥗 Did you know The Mayfair gets lettuce locally right down the road at Blue Mitten Farms? You don’t have to worry about cyclospora. ❤️

It makes us very proud to see “Blue Mitten Farms” on the menus and tables of the finest restaurants in Michigan, but as the next school year quickly approaches, we had to take a moment to smile and cherish these tokens of community engagement and appreciation. We’ve worked very hard to build and maintain these farm to school relationships and fight for programs like 10 Cents a Meal. Looking forward to another great school year feeding Michigan students and faculty.

Farmer Phil was back at the Michigan State Capitol today testifying on behalf of 10 Cents A Meal which was cut from the 2026 budget. It is a no-brainer, tiny bit of funding that incentivizes schools to buy Michigan grown fruits and veggies. Support healthy food for better education grown by Michigan farmers in your own communities. What’s not to love? Let’s get it back in the next budget!
