What happens when you don't pick up your nuc (nucleus colony) on the scheduled dates? They get an offsite break!

Their front doors are open and they can forage, take potty breaks, and chill a bit. There's feed available unless they can find something better. The plants to the right are all Vitex negundo, the preferred variety for honey bees, but it likely won't bloom for another month or so.

We'll do an inspection this weekend to check them out. Sunday night we'll close the best 9 and take them back to the store Monday morning for customers to pick up. The other 5 will stay in reserve for the time being.

We will be getting in a shipment of mated Queens on 4/16. Mostly Italian with Carniolan cross (our usual). Unmarked. Pick up only.

These are the same stock as the queens in our nucs.

Most of the queens are already spoken for, but we'll have some spares.

$40 each for 1-9, $36 each for 10+, plus applicable sales tax. $10 deposit each to reserve them.

Update 2026/03/06: Nucs are sold out We have a waiting list for those who still want a nuc from us. We usually have a few available after filling orders. (Cancellations, ...) We still have queens available..

We are now taking orders for 2026 bees. We always sell equipment.

Our queens are an Italian/Carniolan cross, and perform well here.

5 frame nucleus colonies will be $225, with a required $100 deposit per nuc. If you buy 6 or more, they are $215 each. Pick up at the store is expected April 16 & 17, 2026. We expect them to be in ProNuc boxes again.

We're sorry, but we will NOT be selling package bees this year.

Mated unmarked queens will be $40 this year, or $36 each if you buy 10 or more. $10 deposit per queen is required. They will be available starting Mid-April, but we'll have multiple dates. If you want the earliest dates, order early.

All prices are "plus tax" unless you are sales tax exempt for some reason.

Come and get 'em!

If you are picking up a nuc, there is no need to come into the store.

The store faces North, drive down the West side of the building to the back, across the back, and we'll load you (and whatever else you need at the 2nd overhead door from the front. Any necessary payment can be taken at the overhead door.

Nucs and Queens WILL be in Thursday, for pickup Thursday and Friday.

Remember that a nuc box is NOT a suitable permanent home for a colony. You WILL need a regular hive into which you can transfer them ASAP.

If you are picking up nuc and plan to transport them in the passenger compartment of your vehicle, we recommend that you bring a 2 foot by 3 foot small mesh laundry bag or nuc transport bag. We will have some available for purchase at the store. We will place the nuc in the bag before loading it into your vehicle. If you are transporting them in a pickup the bag is not necessary.

If you are picking up nucs or queens at the store this Thursday or Friday, and need additional equipment that has not ALREADY been pre-ordered, PLEASE call us ASAP and NLT Wednesday or place an online order at beekeepingetc.com , so that we can have your additional needs ready for you when you arrive.

If you don't need to come into the store for anything else, please turn South on Bryant Pl (on West side of the store), proceed the length of the building, turn left into the alley, then left again to proceed north to the large overhead doors. We can take any needed payment and load your vehicle there. There will be signs to direct you. (See photo)

We are still on schedule for the nucs to picked up April 17 & 18 as planned. (Unless you have made other arrangements with us.)

When we have final confirmation we will send a text to the contact phone number you provided us. PLEASE REPLY to that text, so we know you received it.

We have a fairly long waiting list for those who didn't order before we sold out in early March (as usual). If you are on our waiting list we will contact you IF we have a nuc for you.
