One of our birds nearly got hit by cars. I opened their cage, fingers frozen from the cold.. in order to replace their frozen water with a fresh serving. And, he flew out.

Triggering a long icy, game of hide, fly, and seek.

The little rascal flew across the homestead, hiding multiple times. I gave up, went to get warm gloves (at this point I could NOT feel my fingers anymore).

After finding my gloves, I went out again. Only to find him/her gone. Luckily, on my way back to the house, he popped up again and flew out of the grounds and (unfortunately) into traffic. I was too faraway to stop or catch him.

After he hit the ground. I went to the road to collect his remains. Only to find him still alive, unharmed (not even a scratch). I guess none of the cars hit him, I guess. From afar I thought he'd been run over by a tire.. but, I guess not.

He lifted himself off from the state-funded asphalt... and then flew, and flew, and flew. Across the road, and past the shoulder.. to the other side. Until he seemingly got tired. I continued chasing after him. And eventually caught this Michael Scofield, on the other side of the road. Where he couldn't run on the icy strip of land that he had landed on. Sigh.. all is well.

Today, as an immigrant, who now lives in America.. I was pleasantly surprised at the feed store. I grabbed a bag of animal feed (alfalfa) and it was slightly ripped - Tractor Supply Co. The store lady then gave me a 25% discount 😃❤️ wow! 25 percent off, I've never experienced this kind of customer care.
