The Swing for a Second Chance Softball Tournament will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Reeves Park in Norman. Check-in begins at 7:00 AM, and the first pitch is at 8:00 AM.

There will be softball, a home run derby, raffles, prizes, a silent auction, and food and drinks available from my hot dog cart, Thunder Dog Street Eats!

Whether you know Amanda personally or not, this is a wonderful opportunity to come together, enjoy a fun day, and help someone in our community who truly needs our support. Every team, donation, purchase, and person who comes out will make a difference!

A little life + Thunder Dog update!

Things have been BUSY behind the scenes over here! We’re officially in the process of moving to Meeker, and between packing up our lives and this relentless Oklahoma heat, the timing of Thunder Dog’s summer break has probably been a blessing in disguise.

The good news: I’m planning to get Thunder Dog Street Eats back out and serving in September! I miss the cart, my regular stops and seeing all of you.

But anyone who knows me knows I’m not very good at sitting still… especially when it comes to food.

So while the cart is taking its heat-induced vacation, I’m going back to another side of cooking that I really love.

🍴 Beginning August 31st, I’m testing out an in-home personal cooking & meal-prep service!

I’m starting SMALL, just two clients per week, one Monday and one Tuesday.

Before each client’s first cooking day, we’ll meet and build a plan around their household. Like favorite foods, allergies and dietary needs, health goals, grocery budget, portion sizes and how many meals they’d like prepared. I’ll have meal planners with ideas, but everything can be completely customized.

For those who only know me for hot dogs, there’s a lot more to my cooking background! 😊 Before Thunder Dog, I worked in farm-to-table restaurants, have done private catering at Cedar Gate Lodge, am ServSafe Certified, and have cooked everything from homemade pastas, breads, soups, casseroles and tamales to Mediterranean food, seafood, steaks and plenty in between.

Quality ingredients are a big deal to me, but so is being smart with someone’s grocery budget. I can shop for the client, provide every receipt with no grocery markup, then cook, portion everything and clean up right in their kitchen.

This is really just me testing the waters to see if there’s a need for something like this locally while Thunder Dog waits for cooler weather.

Well… this Oklahoma heat has officially won. 🥵

I haven’t been out at all this week because it’s simply been too hot to safely serve from the cart. As much as I miss seeing everyone, the extreme temperatures just aren’t worth the risk.

I was really hoping next week’s forecast would bring some relief, but it looks like the heat is sticking around. Then, from August 1st–8th, I’ll be out of town visiting family in Wisconsin, so Thunder Dog Street Eats will be taking a little break.

I appreciate everyone’s patience and support more than you know. Thank you for sticking with this little hot dog cart! I’ll keep everyone updated on when I’ll be back, and I can’t wait to get out there serving your favorite dogs again soon.

Well… Mother Nature is making the call again today.

Unfortunately again, we’re going to have to pack up and close earlier than planned due to the incoming storms. We’d much rather play it safe than get caught in severe weather. I will be here till the very last minute so come get a dog while you can.

Well… Mother Nature made the call today.

One of the trickiest parts of this job is trying to outguess Oklahoma weather! I started hearing thunder in the distance, so I decided it was best to pack up early and head out before the storms rolled in.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by today and supported Thunder Dog Street Eats. We truly appreciate every single one of you! 🧡

We’ll be back at Choctaw Creek Park next Wednesday, and we’d love to see you then!

Weather Update!

Just a heads up we’re setting up a little earlier today because storms may move into the area this afternoon.

If you’re planning on stopping by, the earlier the better! We’ll be watching the weather closely and will keep everyone updated throughout the day. If we need to close up early due to storms, we’ll post here as soon as we know.
