🎉🍗Why We Chose Red Rangers🍗🎉
When we decided to create the Harrison’s Hatchery Farm-to-Table Program, we knew one thing for certain—we didn’t want to raise just another commercial meat chicken.
We wanted a bird that could truly enjoy being a chicken.
That’s why we chose Red Rangers.
Red Rangers grow at a more natural pace, giving them time to develop strong legs, healthy bodies, and an active lifestyle. Instead of spending all day sitting at a feeder, they love to explore, scratch, forage for bugs and grasses, and make the most of quality pasture.
That slower, more natural growth also produces something many people have never experienced—a richly flavored chicken with a firmer texture that’s reminiscent of the farm-raised birds many of our parents and grandparents grew up enjoying.
Built for the Backyard Farmer
Whether you have a few acres or simply enough room for a chicken tractor, Red Rangers adapt well to a variety of environments. They’re an excellent choice for families, homesteaders, and anyone interested in producing wholesome food for their own table.
Because they stay active and enjoy foraging, many growers appreciate how well they perform on pasture. While they still require a quality feed to reach their full potential, they’ll gladly spend their days searching for insects, seeds, and fresh greens whenever given the opportunity.
Why They Take Longer
One of the first questions we hear is, “Why don’t they grow as fast as the chickens sold in grocery stores?”
The answer is simple.
Red Rangers aren’t bred to reach market weight in just a few weeks. Instead, they develop steadily over approximately 10 to 12 weeks, allowing their muscles, bones, and bodies to mature naturally.
We believe good things are worth waiting for.
That extra time results in healthier, more active birds and exceptional table quality that’s difficult to match.
More Than Just Chickens
Our goal isn’t simply to sell you chicks.
We want to help you experience the satisfaction of raising food for your own family.
That’s why every participant in our Harrison’s Hatchery Red Ranger Farm-to-Table Program receives more than birds. You’ll have access to guidance, educational resources, ongoing support, and the opportunity to participate in our group harvest day with our mobile processing partner Son Of A Beef
Whether this is your very first flock or you’ve been raising poultry for years, we’ll be with you every step of the journey.
There’s something incredibly rewarding about serving a meal you raised yourself, knowing exactly how it was cared for from day one.
That’s what this program is all about.
Raise Your Own. Process With Confidence. Feed Your Family.
