Welcome to Wild Prairie Farm! I'm Katie, the owner and operator, along with my husband Marshall. We are a first generation farm located in Olathe Kansas. We grow cut flowers, produce, and herbs.

Life on the farm has been a little quieter lately, and I thought I’d share why. 🤍

As we wrap up July and head into August, our family is soaking up these last sweet days of summer together. We’re also preparing for a big new adventure this fall as we begin homeschooling, so these weeks have been filled with planning, organizing, and getting ready for a new rhythm of life.

Because of that, we’re taking a short pause from opening the farm stand.

The flowers will bloom again, the garden will keep growing, and there will always be more work to do. But these moments with our children are a season we don’t want to rush past.

Thank you for supporting our little family farm and for cheering us on through every season. We’re grateful for each of you and look forward to welcoming you back to the farm stand soon.

Until then, we’re choosing to savor these last days of summer together. 🌿🤍

Summer is showing off this week. 🌸

These bouquets are filled with the cheerful colors, whimsical blooms, and garden-grown beauty that make this season so special. Every week the flowers change, and I think this might be one of my favorite combinations yet.

Whether you’re setting the table for family dinner, taking a hostess gift, celebrating a special occasion, or simply bringing a little joy to your kitchen counter, fresh flowers have a way of making ordinary moments feel just a little more special.

Bouquets will be available tomorrow at the farm stand, and a handful are available today at Prairie Center Meats if you can’t make it out to the farm.

Yesterday we made my favorite jam—rosemary peach jam—using a recipe from the All New Ball Book of Canning and Preserving. 🍑🌿

It’s one of those flavors that tastes like summer in a jar, and I can’t wait to enjoy it all year long.

The sweetest part of summer isn’t just the harvest—it’s who you get to share it with. 🍅🫐

Cherry tomatoes, blackberries, and little helping hands. Vyla and the twins were all smiles filling baskets from our garden today. These are the moments I hope they remember.

A bucket full of flowers, headed to a baby shower. 💕

A little weekend update from the farm 🌿

This week’s flowers headed out tomorrow in a DIY event bucket for a special celebration, and we won’t have any additional bouquets available at the farm stand or Prairie Center this weekend.

But the biggest celebration around here this week is our Vyla’s birthday! 🥳 We’re busy getting everything ready, and this weekend I want to be fully present with her and our family instead of splitting my attention between party prep, harvesting, arranging flowers, and keeping the stand stocked.

So the farm stand will be closed this weekend while we celebrate our girl. 💛

Thank you, as always, for supporting this little farm and allowing it to grow right alongside our family life.

The flower field is in that funny midsummer in-between stage right now. 🌿

Our early summer flowers are beginning to fade, while the heat-tolerant summer workhorses are just starting to ramp up. Plenty is growing, but not quite enough is blooming all at once for a full farm stand weekend.

I think we’ll have just enough flowers to send a small batch of bouquets to Prairie Center this week while we wait for the next round of summer blooms to really get going. 🌸

This is just part of growing seasonally—the garden is always shifting, one season of flowers making way for the next. Soon the field will be full of zinnias, celosia, sunflowers, amaranth, and all the flowers that thrive in the heat of a Kansas summer. ☀️
