Had an absolute blast getting back out with our and this weekend. But first—huge Happy 40th Birthday to the legend himself, Joe Pearce of Slap's BBQ 🎉🔥

Power or no power, Qlathe is one we never miss. Chris and the City of Olathe, KS Government team continue to show what passion looks like. This event wasn’t guaranteed to happen this year—budgets are real, and contests like this are never a given. But Chris and his team fought for it because they love it.

If you care about this comp, speak up. Let them know it matters. In Olathe, that kind of feedback actually makes a difference. ‘Nuff said.

As for us—American Fire BBQ landed 7th overall with a 697 and change:

21st Chicken
10th Prairie Fresh Ribs
12th Prairie Fresh Pork
12th SRF Brisket

And yeah… Fluffy Butt BBQ edged me out with a 5th place brisket 👀 Noted. Won’t happen again. Still great fun having the G babies and Rosie around as well. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Big congrats to Josh and JDub of Jdqbbq on their first KCBS Grand Championship with a 703 👏

Here we go again. After a long winter, it’s time to fire it back up at Qlathe in Olathe, KS 🔥

The pits are rolling with charcoal on American Made steel smokers. Locked in and ready.

is back after a year-long hiatus… and he didn’t come to play. The stage is set, and he’s bringing the pain.

The American Royal World Series of Barbecue is a wrap 🔥 This was also our milestone achievement of 10 consecutive years competing at the Royal.

Man, we’re proud of what we pulled off this year. It’s been quite a ride — adding our 2nd store, welcoming our 2nd grandbaby (👶🏼 Lucy Mae!), and trying to keep up with all that life brings.

We haven’t had much time to compete this season… but there’s no way we’d miss the biggest stage in BBQ. 🙌

Huge congrats to all our friends, BBQ family, and the awesome customers who trusted us with your BBQ supplies and meat this year. It was amazing celebrating your wins at the Royal! 💪

For us, it was a banner weekend:
🏆 6th Place Pork in the Invitational on Saturday

Then on Sunday — the Open & Sides Contests— we kept it rolling:
🥕 3rd Place Vegetable (big thanks to Travis & Anne Moore for crushing it on the sides and dessert — y’all are welcome anytime!)

In the Open contest, Devin once again rocked the chicken on the can 🐔 and we put together a cook that came this close to that BBQ glory we’re always chasing.

Having Beck and Devin by my side means the world — couldn’t ask for better teammates. ❤️

Beck, Dev and I got to have some fun Sunday night. Lucky enough to have great seats for a great win at the chiefs game Sunday night. So much fun. Then Monday, Dev and I took a rare day off together and were joined by some great BBQ friends Dakota and Pops from Sons of a Brisket for the annual Scissors & Scotch Charity golf tournament at Country Club of Leawood supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Proud we were able to support their event for a great org. Fantastic Day. 🔥

This weekend we rolled out to one of our favorite BBQ Contests. One we choose not to miss all in part to the fantastic work that Corey Linton, Amy and their team do to put on a world class event. Never disappoints, except the weather but not this year. It was absolutely beautiful. It was a tough week and my soul needed to be out around my and .

This comp looked a little different. I didn't have my right hand in Rebecca Holt, No Devin Holt. Somebody has to work :)
No Jamie Stuke in sight as he was sun'in his buns in the FLA. No Brad or Bre. They all abandoned me so IN COMES THE ONE and ONLY "PEACHES" Ryan Harral for the assist.

We did pretty good.

🐖 22nd Place Prairie Fresh RIBS
🐖 19th Place Prairie Fresh PORK (run'in some new wrap stuff and like'in it). The "belle" is bangin Joel Fleetwood
🐃 15th Place BRISKET
All good enough for a 12th OVERALL with a 697 out of 92 or so teams. Congrats to the folks of Parts "R" Smokin on the great big GC and Cow Creek BBQ on the RGC and to all that were awarded at this contest.

Thanks to Devin and Beck for letting me away and Peaches for all your help Ryan, it was a lot of fun.
