Project Turnover: Turnbridge, Killingworth, CT | RJS Associates Food Service Design-Build

Turnover day at Turnbridge in Killingworth, Connecticut.

Our team was on site for the building and fire inspections: walking the cook line, reviewing gas connections, and opening up the hood fire-suppression system and controls for the fire marshal. While that was going on, the crew wrapped up the last loose ends on the serving line in the dining hall.

What RJS delivered:
• Full commercial kitchen design, equipment and installation
• Type I exhaust hood with integrated fire suppression over the cook line
• Custom stainless island with double overshelf and pot rail
• Warewashing and prep: pre-rinse, three-compartment and hand sinks
• Custom-finished buffet serving lines with hot wells and sneeze guards

Thank you to the Turnbridge team, the inspectors and every trade who helped get this project across the finish line.

We have been recognized as the selected designer for all food service designs at Jamul Casino, located outside of San Diego, since 2016. In 2021, RJSA was again chosen to design Jamul's Resort new hotel expansion, featuring Jamul 23 Restaurant, Lobby Bar, Fly Room Speak Easy Bar, Starlite Roof Top Pool Lounge, Spa Juice & Coffee Bar, and 16th Floor High Rollers Lounge. This Four Diamond resort casino is a testament to excellence. We appreciate the trust placed in our services and dedicated team to make this resort the best in the area. Designing a versatile shuking station that can convert from a raw bar to a meat and fish display for MJ Steak Restaurant was vital for flexibility. Randell Custom Equipment enabled RJSA to provide FX drawers and a sucking station with cutting capabilities when the oyster display is in use. Converting to a meat display and incorporating continuing displays, including fish when necessary, results in a flexible station that adapts to an ever-changing menu.

RJSA food service design, in collaboration with POA Architects, is delighted to launch the next phase for the Old Lyne Country Club, a cherished landmark in our community. The remodel features the addition of new club dining zones, a modern culinary kitchen, a new bar, back-of-house services, and the refurbishment of the pool snack hut. Construction is currently in progress, with a targeted completion date of June 2026.
