It is with a heavy heart we share the news that our dear friend Randy Sims has passed away. He was a Giant among men. Randy and Deb were always willing to help out anyway possible down in the islands. Randy and I stayed in touch via text and Facebook regularly. Laurel and I were planning our itinerary today to surprise them this summer on our road trip out west.

Gone NOT Forgotten my friend. You will be missed.

Men have been busy this week. Lots of glassing in and tabbing stringers and blocking. Preparing for deck install next week. Got the below deck rigging and foam work almost finished. We are about 2 weeks from being ready to hang a motor in it.

This is 100% a work boat. No need for pretty where we are going. For those who have been paying attention. The red boat would fit inside on the deck of this boat.

Cue the music "Fat Bottomed Girls You Make The Rocking World Go Round!"

The boys have been hard at work at the new farm lot. Coming along very nice.

Drove up to Georgia to pickup another 1,000 buckets and lids. Getting prepped for the warmer weather. Crabbing all across the state has slowed down. Sales have slowed tremendously. It has afforded us time to work on our new property, new crab boat, and tidy up things at the river. We should be back to full production in two weeks.

We are still delivering our normal routes. Keys, Everglade City, Marco Island, and Naples on Week "A". Crystal River, Hudson, Clearwater, and Tarpon Springs on Week "B".

Busy couple of days. The boys started working on the deck stringers on the new boat. I delivered buckets to two current customers and three potential customers. Put 700 miles on the farm truck in one day. Ended up all the way down in Everglades City. The water temps have dropped and the crabs are buried up. Things should start to get busier in a few weeks when the crabs start moving.

Ran offshore to pull traps today. Crabbing has slowed down due to cooler water temps. Still amazed at the beauty offshore. Lots of other sea life and an overall good Day on the water.

Shout out to Big Mack Miller and James for staying on top of the bait orders. Three deliveries scheduled for next week to new commercial clients.

Never in a million years would I think I would be spending my days chasing cow hides to run a crab business. With China purchasing Smithfield and influencing the pork markets stateside finding bait that isn't over priced is getting harder and harder. I am stubborn when it comes over paying for things that just shouldn't be that expensive.

Hence the focus on finding alternative bait. We have been cutting cow hides into buckets like a bunch of mad men. Today we picked up 100ish hides from another beef processing plant about 1.5 hrs from the house. I'm getting alot of time to reflect on my adventures driving around the back roads of North Florida. Most of the people I meet are intrigued as to why. Why dont I just pay the double price for bait. Because I do not have to. I will no longer succumb to the idea that everything is expensive just because. Our forefathers were pioneers. They built this country on a premise of ideas/ideals that we all need to reflect on.

Quit feeding the China machine. Quit buying the cheap trinkets off of Temu, Amazon, and Walmart. I've cut Chinese influence out of my business model. I refuse to sell to the Chinese fish houses and refuse to buy bait from Chinese suppliers.
