🐼 Farm Shenanigans: The “Money” Situation
Well
I’ve officially decided my neighbors probably think I’ve lost my mind.
Because if you live anywhere near us, you’ve likely heard me outside yelling:

“MONEY! MONEY! Come here, MONEY!”

And I realized today — while sitting at work — that people probably think I’m out here trying to catch dollar bills falling from the sky.

So let me clarify before rumors start.

Meet Money Man — my sweet, gentle giant of a bull.
He’s the supplier of all the beef that has come through our farm for the last four years. He loves back scratches, slow strolls in the pasture, and doing absolutely whatever he wants
because he’s over 1,700 pounds and frankly, nobody tells him otherwise.

The other cows stay exactly where they’re supposed to be.
Money?
Money believes fences are merely suggestions and that he has earned the right to roam wherever his heart desires. And honestly
he kind of has. He’s spoiled rotten and easily my favorite bull we’ve ever raised.

But here’s the hard part.

Money Man will be moving on to new pastures in a few months.
He’s done his job here, and we’re keeping several of his daughters as replacements. But he’s also become a danger to my kids — not because he’s ever acted aggressive, but because they forget he’s still a bull, and bulls can change in a heartbeat.

The moment I saw my son walk past Money with less than a foot between them, I nearly had a heart attack. That was my sign. We love him, but we can’t risk it.

So soon, we’ll have an amazing bull available for a good, loving home — someone else can enjoy yelling “MONEY!” across their pasture and watch him magically appear.

Farm life
 never boring.

🐖 Lots to Talk About
 Pork!
Smoked chops, pork steaks, sausage, bacon, pulled pork, cutlets, hams — how can you go wrong? Our pork is raised right here on the farm with sunshine, fresh air, and all the goodness that makes it tender and flavorful.

We are now taking orders for our winter batch.
We only raise two batches a year, and we have just a few spots left that aren’t spoken for.

If you’d like to reserve a half or whole hog, let us know and we’ll get your name on the list. It’s one of the best ways to fill your freezer with clean, local, farm‑fresh pork your family will love.

đŸ„© Farm Update: Out of Steaks (Again!)
Once again, we are out of steaks. Thank you for bearing with us — it’ll be about a month before we can restock. As much as I’d love to magically turn a whole beef into steaks
it just doesn’t work that way.

But here’s the good news:
We have plenty of hamburger, roasts, stew meat, and liver ready to go.

And honestly, it’s the perfect time for it — soup season is here. So pull out the crockpot, dust off the Dutch oven, and try your hand at stews, soups, and slow‑roasted meals. They’re every bit as amazing and flavorful as a steak, just in a cozy, comfort‑food kind of way.

Thank you for supporting our family farm and for rolling with the seasons right along with us.

đŸ„© Bulk Beef Available for 2026
We have bulk beef available — and if you’ve enjoyed our beef out of the farm freezer, buying by the quarter or half is the most affordable way to fill your freezer with our pasture‑raised, grain‑finished beef.

We have about five more beef going in this year, which sounds like a lot, but it truly isn’t once orders start coming in. If you’re thinking ahead, now is the time to reserve your bulk farm‑fresh beef.

Filling the freezer is one of the best ways to feed your family well
and honestly, it even makes a great Christmas gift. Just a thought.

Send us a message if you’d like to claim a quarter or half — we’re happy to help you plan.

Tomato season truth right there — the cracks are coming and it’s totally normal.

The quick takeaway: tomatoes crack when a hardened, sun‑toughened skin suddenly has to stretch fast after a heavy rain. The inside swells quicker than the outside can expand, so the skin splits. Still delicious, still safe, still full of summer goodness
just not winning any beauty contests.

đŸŒ± Why it happens
Hot, dry spells make the skin firm and tight.

A sudden soak of rain makes the plant pull in water fast.

Rapid growth pushes against that tough skin.

Result: cracking around the shoulders or down the sides.

🍅 Are they still good?
Absolutely. The flavor is untouched. They just look a little “farm‑real” instead of grocery‑store perfect.

đŸŒŠïž A little farm wisdom
Cracked tomatoes are actually a sign of a healthy plant responding to real weather — not a flaw. It’s the kind of thing your customers appreciate when they understand the story behind it.
