🥬 Greens, greens, greens… not just good for you because Mama says so.
They’re good because your body says so too — loudly, proudly, and with better manners than your kids at dinnertime.

Here’s the truth behind the joke:

Your liver LOVES greens.
They help it detox, reset, and keep everything running smoothly — like oiling the hinges on an old barn door.

Your gut begs for them.
Leafy greens feed the good bacteria that keep digestion calm, immunity strong, and inflammation down.

Your blood sugar behaves better.
Greens slow down sugar spikes, which means fewer crashes, cravings, and “why am I suddenly grumpy” moments.

Your minerals come from the soil — not a bottle.
Magnesium, potassium, folate… greens are basically nature’s multivitamin, no synthetic colors required.

Your skin glows.
Chlorophyll + antioxidants = that healthy “I’ve been outside all day” look without actually having to be outside all day.

So yes — Mama was right…
But science, your gut, your hormones, and your future self are all nodding along too.

🥬 Fresh greens available this week:
Broccoli • Kale • Swiss Chard • Red Sails Lettuce • Buttercrunch • Romaine

Come grab some and give your body what it’s been politely hinting about.

🚨 Farm Update: Out of Steaks (But More Are Coming!)
We’ve got a little bit of bad news, friends — we are officially out of steaks for the rest of the month.

The demand for our hamburger has been unbelievable lately. In fact, we ended up turning our last beef into 100% ground 80/20 just to keep up. And if you’ve ever had our burger, you know why — it’s on a whole different level from store‑bought. Our kids even staged a protest after I brought home some from the local store… lesson learned.

But that means one thing:
No steaks until our next beef goes in at the end of the month.

⭐ The Good News
We will have steaks available again in July once that beef is processed and back from the butcher.

🥩 Want to Avoid Running Out?
We also sell beef in bulk — by the quarter or half. If that’s something you’re interested in, please let us know so we can plan ahead. Bulk orders help us schedule processing and make sure your family gets exactly what you want in your freezer.

Thank you for your patience and for supporting our family farm. Raising beef the right way takes time — about 18 months — and we’re grateful for every one of you who chooses to buy local and trust us with your food.

🌿 Showcasing Echinacea — The Coneflower of Courage and Healing
Today we’re highlighting one of the most beloved plants on our farm: Echinacea, also known as the coneflower. This beautiful plant has been part of our home and our healing work for years, and we use it in four meaningful ways.

1. Beauty in the Garden
Echinacea brings vibrant color and life to our herb and flower beds. It’s one of those plants that makes the whole farm feel alive in midsummer.

2. A Supportive Ingredient in Our Teas
We add Echinacea to several of our herbal tea blends because it offers gentle, natural support when your body needs it most.
It helps:

soothe a sore throat

ease aches and pains from colds or flu

support the body with its natural antibacterial properties

3. A Powerful Tincture
In tincture form, Echinacea becomes a concentrated ally for wellness. It’s traditionally used to:

help lower blood sugar levels

strengthen and support the immune system

4. A Flower Essence for Emotional Healing
This is where Echinacea truly shines. As a flower essence, it embodies:

courage

independence

self‑love

It’s especially supportive for those healing from early childhood abuse or neglect, helping restore a sense of inner strength and identity. This plant has a way of reminding us who we are at our core.

I have a confession. Some of you may have noticed that for the last two weeks I haven’t had sourdough at the markets. Well… it’s because I murdered Mr. Bubbles, my sourdough starter.

He lived a good, bubbly life for over three years, but due to my neglect he passed away—leaving behind a very colorful jar of mold as his final farewell. So while we mourn his passing, we also celebrate our new starter, Miss Luisa.

She’ll be making her debut this weekend in the form of blueberry‑lemon sourdough, cheddar‑jalapeño bread, scones, and buttery sourdough biscuits. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Our gluten‑free sourdough will also be back this week, so keep an eye out and enjoy.

Poison ivy season is here, so don’t wait until the rash shows up. Our handmade poison ivy soap is infused with jewelweed, a natural remedy traditionally found growing right beside poison ivy and oak. It’s perfect for anyone who spends time in the woods or working outdoors. Just wash your hands, arms, and legs as soon as you come inside.

If you already have a rash, our Poison Ivy Salve helps soothe and clear it up quickly. Keep both on hand for the season.
