🐄✨ Greenacres is honored to welcome Dr. Temple Grandin to our Indian Hill location this September for a special event on The Importance of Good Stockmanship.

Join us at the Nippert Barn on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 9:00AM–12:30PM, as Dr. Grandin shares her expertise on humane livestock handling, facility design, and the value of calm, low-stress animal care. Guests will also enjoy tours of our Temple Grandin-designed livestock handling facility, educational stations, and a chance to have books signed by Dr. Grandin herself.

What if we could tell how cattle were raised just by analyzing the nutrients in their beef?

This new research out of Michigan State University—supported by Greenacres Foundation—dives into how cattle diets influence the health qualities of beef, especially the balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. The findings are a big step toward more transparency in how grass-finished beef is produced and verified.

We are excited to host the 2nd graders from Batesville Community School Corporation next week for their first program! The students will have a Guaranteed Experience at Greenacres Michaela Farm learning about life cycles of plants and insects. We are looking forward to this partnership and look forward to many more programs in the future!

❄️ Reflecting on a Wonderful Winter at Michaela Farm ❄️

As we welcome spring, we’re taking a moment to look back on a season full of learning, connection, and community here at Michaela Farm. One of our favorite highlights was the Open House & Maple Day, where over 200 guests explored our new Education Center, learned about maple syrup production in the sugar shack, and enjoyed a guided hike through the winter woods.

Families engaged in hands-on activities, discovered upcoming summer camp and field trip opportunities, and gathered for a farm-fresh meal featuring Greenacres products, prepared by Pearl Street Catering.

Thank you to everyone who made this winter so meaningful! 🌿🍁

Freshly harvested winter carrots are now available at Greenacres Michaela Farm! Carrots are a biennial vegetable, which means they produce seeds in their second year of growth. We start them in the fall and harvest them just before spring. The cold temperatures have transformed the carrots’ stored starches into natural sugars, making them extra sweet and crisp. Come visit our Farm Store and taste the difference for yourself!

🎄 This past Saturday, our education team had a wonderful time at Holiday Under the Spires in the charming town of Oldenburg! For 21 years, this event has brought together family, friends, and the community to celebrate the season in this historic little village. 🏛️✨

We loved meeting everyone who stopped by our booth to learn about Michaela Farm and our mission. 💚
