At Cutco, we're proud to have multiple generations represented throughout our company, like Matt and his two children, Kadence and Matthew, who all share a Cutco connection.
Matt has been part of the Cutco family for over 16 years. Currently serving as Employee Relations and Employment Manager in our HR department, he has also held roles as a Maintenance Supervisor, Production Supervisor and worked in manufacturing throughout the years.
He shared how meaningful it has been to see his children begin their own journeys at Cutco through our Summer Student Program. His son, Matthew, participated in the program last summer and returned this summer. Kadence also took part in the program before joining the company in a full-time role.
Kadence started in the shipping department in June 2023, continued working summers in 2024 and 2025, and has been a member of Cutco Gifting since September 2025.
Reflecting on Kadence’s first day at Cutco, Matt said he felt both proud and at ease knowing she would be working for a “wonderful company.” He spoke fondly about her adaptability and how it contributed to her success in the summer program and eventually led to a full-time opportunity. Kadence and Matthew were equally quick to praise their dad, with Kadence sharing that his work ethic and dedication — both at Cutco and beyond — are qualities she has admired her entire life. Matthew echoed that sentiment, saying their father’s hard work has served as a valuable lesson for both him and his sister.
💭Fun Fact: Besides sharing a place of work, Matt and Kadence were both High School Sectional Championship winners in baseball and softball respectively, at the same school. Even cooler? Their wins were 30 years apart (1993 and 2023).
