RABBIT BREEDERS:

Y’all probably know this and its worth another mention - after kindling in warm weather, be sure to check the box and remove kits that didn’t survive as well as placentas

🪰 Cause if you don’t find it, the flies definitely will 🪰

!!Give me good clean air with a natural skyline!!

These clouds do not seem like a ‘normal’ sky for June.

“Nobody in a 200 mile radius puts their napkin on their lap.”

Said one 16 year old male responding to his mother’s request to use proper manners.

Non-conformity is preferred in this case. What table manners do you teach your kids?

My excuse is they’re gonna need to leave a good impression on their fiancés parents. I also make them eat difficult things like brussels sprouts so they learn how not to make a face.

🐥 Homesteading is Reality 101 🐥

As well as Reality 102 and 103

There are things you don’t see online, things they don’t tell you about what to do, what really happens:

🥚You only see the cute or the pretty🥚

When hatching eggs, you can’t see which ones will turn out to be hens or roosters. Unfortunately, most roosters don’t live with other roosters together in harmony. Honestly, some hens don’t get along well either.

Few posts I read mention how to tell chickens apart…

Its often not until the *favorite hen* begins crowing - that’s about 4 months of fun and feeding - that folks experience disappointment and throw up their hands wondering what to do because they fell in love with a wonderful rooster.

As for me, I’d rather be an early adopter.

Watching development from the day chicks hatch, I’ve found there are indicators! Here is one of them, and the most obvious when genetics are similar.

Comb size and shape can vary quite a bit between breeds. Among the same breed, you can see how the comb demonstrates the difference in s*x characteristics very early on.

I’ve labeled the photos in these 4 week old chicks - do you see it, too?
