A childhood dream come true...

What do you want to be when you grow up? As a child, I always answered that question with four bold answers... a nurse, a teacher, a truck driver and a farmer! Wow, what a dreamer I was! As a homeschool mama to ten beautiful children, I do believe the “nurse” and “teacher” careers were at least somewhat fulfilled. In my late 20’s I went for the truck driver title, achieving success with a class A Commercial Driver’s License. Now for that fourth dream...... a farmer! Well, in my 40’s, I began craving what’s now popularly coined the “homestead life”. As I embraced my first set of laying hens and my first tiny square foot garden, I was in love! There’s been no looking back and today I strive to learn everything possible about where our food comes from, how it’s raised and processed and what I can do to make my corner of the world a better place for our family and our community in this venture. I’ve learned so much and still have so much more to learn, but I thank God for everything he’s given me and where he’s taking me.
