My first set of Ducks....I read all about how to raise and take care of Ducks...I did my homework and lots and lots of research.....kept them at the right temperature when they were babies, fed them the proper feed,grain, grit, and oyster shells...proper size too...kept them in a pen with a kiddie pool to swim in until they were old enough and fully feathered out....before I would release them to the pond..(BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT THE BOOKS SAID TO DO).... My father told me I was over exaggerating this whole raising ducks thing....but doesn't every first time parent? Well guess my dad was right...lol...he did grow up on a farm after all....SOOOO....when it came time to release the ducks to the pond...I was scared we would never get them back in the pen at night to keep them safe....Found out I had absolutely nothing to worry about because the "Stupid Ducks" wouldn't get near the pond!!!! Until a month later when I had got in the pond myself and coaxed them out into the water with treats....LOL
So the name kinda stuck.....especially after a friend made a hat for me as a joke with a duck head that said Stupid Duck Ranch across the top...when trying to think up a catchy name that stood out and people would remember....It was decided "Stupid Duck Ranch" it is....not to mention me consistently saying "stupid ducks" at the odd things they do...lol
And besides I already had a hat with the name on it...so it was perfect ;)
