WAGYU FEEDERS Calving Specialist
Booth Creek Wagyu - Kansas
Booth Creek Wagyu is seeking a skilled Calving Specialist to lead our heifer calving and neonatal calf-care program. This hands-on role manages daily calving operations, ensures exceptional animal welfare, and supports a high-precision breeding and health management system. Key Responsibilities: Monitor heifers and assist with calving, including identifying dystocia and providing timely intervention.
Expected Duties:
Perform newborn care: colostrum management, tagging, navel care, health checks, and recordkeeping.
Track and administer calf health treatments, vaccinations, and medications.
Maintain clean, safe calving facilities and enforce biosecurity protocols.
Lead and train a small team of part-time staff. Communicate closely with ranch managers, vets, and operational partners.
Assist with heat detection, synchronization, AI/ET breeding activities, and repro tracking.
Help shape a growing Wagyu program and contribute to exceptional reproductive outcomes and calf health.
Annual salary rate based on experience.
