Wool pellets are here in time for planting season! Wool pellets are made from raw sheep wool that is not sutible for spinning. They’re natural, biodegradable, and packed with slow-release nitrogen. They also help retain moisture, improve soil aeration, and build soil

How to Use Wool Pellets:
1. Soil Preparation
Before planting, mix wool pellets into your garden soil or raised beds. Use about:
1/4 cup per plant, or
1–2 cups per square foot of garden space.
Blend them into the top 2–4 inches of soil.
20lbs of wool pellets is good for 1 cubic yard of soil.

2. At Planting Time
Add pellets directly into the planting hole when transplanting seedlings. Place some pellets around the root zone, then cover with soil and water well.

3. Top Dressing (Optional)
For existing plants, sprinkle pellets around the base and water them in. You can repeat this once or twice per growing season.
Extra Benefits:
Moisture Retention: They hold water like a sponge, reducing watering needs.
Slow-Release Fertilizer: Rich in nitrogen for steady plant growth. Pest Deterrent: The texture and scent can deter slugs, snails, and some rodents

Great For: Vegetables, Flowers, Container plants Raised beds, and house plants!

Just a short collection of moments on the farm. Borrowing the family excavator to dig up some irrigation line to hopefully get us irrigating so I don’t run out of grass for the sheep in this drought, little curious piglets, and a cute horse time with a new friend in the sunset.

WSDA whole or half animals shares are the best way to purchase meat! It means less stress for the animal as they are processed on farm instead of being driven 2+ hours as well as saves the consumer and farmer money! Consider trying something new and investing in a freezer full of ethically raised meat!

According to data collected by the USDA agriculture census, 99.9% of pork is raised in confinement on concrete pads. Pigs are naturally social animals who forage, play, and live in woodland areas. Consider where your meat is coming from and perhaps choose to fill our freezer with ethically raised meat this fall. This farmer works hard to bring you quality meat and your support really helps! Ive got four more pigs available for reservation for my September harvest. Reserve at my website www.withywindlevalleyfarm.com. Sliding-scale pricing available

First time droving the flock down the road with my new collie Zzip! Ive been practicing everyday with her and Hank getting ready for these bigger moves. Hank, my rescue heeler, does well in predictable situations such as rounding up the sheep in a pen, but in these more dynamic situations he gets overwhelmed and shuts down. Zzip did a wonderful job today and it feels huge to be able to move the flock around to the different pastures we utilize without the overwhelming stress of them dispersing and having to call friends with dogs over for backup. Now the flock is at my neighbors house with a nice tall fence where I will leave them on about an acre while a take a few days off moving fences to celebrate my birthday!

The lambs have learned they can climb out of the feeder and go adventuring. Almost time for pasture! Just waiting for the grass to grow a little more!
