Oyster Bay Farm

Oyster Bay Farm Diversified fruit, produce, and livestock farm. At Oyster Bay Farm, we provide high quality, locally raised and processed pasture based eggs, and meat.

We are the next generation of farmers stewarding the historic Oyster Bay Farm located on Totten Inlet in Olympia, WA. We view Organic certification as a minimum, and we farm with a focus on animal welfare, biological diversity, on-farm fertility, food security, and food safety. Our farm’s pasture based products support our family, nourish our community, and enhance our environment.

Hello Oyster Bay Farm supporters -

We’re excited to let you know about the products that will be available from the farm this year. This year we will have chicken, lamb, and beef available. Please feel free to forward this email to friends and family who might be interested in supporting us and purchasing our products. As we continue to grow our egg laying flock our certified organic Rainbow Pastured Eggs are sold exclusively at the Olympia Food Coops.

This year we are continuing our relationships with our beef and lamb partners. Our cattle come from a certified organic, 100% grass fed beef herd at our good friends at the Burkhalter Dairy (Organic Valley) farm in Rosburg, WA. The lambs come from Ruth and Jeff Eitel in Winlock, WA who previously supplied lambs to Oyster Bay Farm when Pat Labine was managing the operation (some of you might remember these lambs).

Chicken

Oyster Bay Farm organic “Fine Large Chickens” will again be available. The chickens are $5/lb and they will weigh between 4-5 lbs each ($20 - $25 total per bird - approximately). The chickens will be chilled, but unwrapped, and available for pickup between 5-8 pm on the dates listed below. Remember to bring a cooler or bags with you to transport your chickens home. If you would like to order chicken, please let us know how many you’d like, and which day would be best for you to pick them up. We will have three pick up days this summer:

Wednesday July 8
Friday July 10
Sunday July 12

Beef

We will have beef available this fall by the 1/4, 1/2, or whole. We plan to harvest beef at the end of October. The meat will be ready from the butcher (Salmon Creek Meats) approximately 2-3 weeks afterwards. Beef will be $5/lb hanging weight plus processing fees, and we estimate that the whole cows will hang between 600-800 lbs. If you are interested in beef, please let us know how much you’d like to purchase. Additionally, if you are interested in beef but need smaller portions, please let us know and we can make arrangements.

Lamb

We will have lamb available by the 1/2 or whole this fall. We will harvest lamb at the end of October, and the meat will be ready from the butcher (Salmon Creek Meats) early-mid November. We charge $250 per lamb ($125 for 1/2 lamb) plus processing fees. If you are interested in lamb, please let us know as soon as possible, and we will reserve your lamb for the fall.

Pandemic Protocols
We are all affected by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, and we intend to follow all recommended safety guidelines when arranging for meat and poultry pickups.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out via email or phone. We are thankful for your commitment to local food, and hope we can help nourish your families with organic and grass fed meat and poultry.

Thanks,
Melissa, Nate, and Olivia
