Meet the wandering peacock...we are calling him Kevin. I haven't heard a peep out of him so I played a peacock sound and then he let out the cutest sound!

The neighborhood peacock finally made a stop at Oly Roosting Ground! 🦚

We've been seeing posts about a lost peacock wandering around the area, and I've been hoping he'd eventually find his way to our little flock. Last night, while my kindergartner and I were collecting eggs and getting the chickens settled for the evening, he spotted something unusual in the yard.

Sure enough—it was the peacock!

Lots of hawk activity today. The roosters did an excellent job warning the girls. I have Goldie with me at the time and she knew I was going to protect her ❤️

Perfect hard boiled eggs, fresh from the coop!
Boil water. Place eggs carefully in the pot. Let boil for 9 mins. Drain hot water, leave eggs in pot. Add cold running water and let eggs sit for 1 min. Drain water. Start peeling like the egg shells are made of satin!
