HISTORY TIME: This is our Huntsman Pie & Westmorland chutney! One of the most interesting pies we have put out, but something about it just works.

With roots from 17th century fox hunters. They layered meat pies with game. These sturdy pies were designed to be put in a pocket or saddle bag, whilst riding around the English country side hunting.

Westmorland chutney is a sharp acidic and sweet chutney made with prunes, apricots, dates, onions and ginger cooked down for hours with vinegar. This was inspired by the ancient Cumbrian trading roots in the area it was created in Cumbria, England.

Second picture is not ours and is an example of a variation of a cold “huntsman” pye.

On our fall menu, come try it out!
