I realized for those new here it’s time to reintroduce one of our traditions here at the shop (⚠️caution: spoiler at the end so wait to swipe to get in on the fun!). We used to carry a brand of stuffed animals made entirely without plastic (the stuffing, the thread, the fabric, even no plastic “eyes”). That brand stopped selling to indie retailers like us and as we sold out of our inventory we were left with this small Hawaiian monk seal which we affectionately named “Kai” (means “sea” in Hawaiian language). We decided to adopt him 🩵💚 and have told kids shopping with their parents that if they find him in the store then they get to find the next hiding place. There have been some pretty interesting hiding places but I think this last one may be the MOST interesting. It took us forever to find him this time!
