👋 Meet Elizabeth Turrubiates, QA Lead at 39th Street. We asked Elizabeth to share some fast facts with us:

✅ I was born in Salinas, California, and moved to Harlingen, Texas, and Morehead, Minnesota, before coming to South Fargo, where I currently live.
✅ I have four boys ranging in age from 13 to 25.
✅ I have a very outgoing personality, which has helped me find many opportunities throughout my life, including my current position at Wald Family Foods in QA and leading the Safety Committee.
✅ I’m motivated to help others, make accomplishments, and push the limits. In my free time, I love to watch movies, listen to live music, go gambling, take my Yorkie dog, Oso, to the park, or just hang out with my family. I also love to sleep!
✅ A fun fact about me is that I love games, whether it’s card games or board games! I also love to sing and cook.
✅ My favorite place to visit is Puerto Rico. There, I enjoy going clear water snorkeling, taking in the tropical environment, and visiting with all the friendly people.

Meet Tanner Lierman’s four-legged hunting buddy, Oakley! 🐾🧡

He may be 11 years old, but other than the gray on his face, you would never know due to his adventure-ready, puppy-like energy! When he’s outside, he’s constantly on the move, hunting, exploring, while keeping an eye out for flies to catch. In the house, he transforms into a 50-pound lap dog who’s more than happy to steal your blanket and curl up right on top of you.

His favorite things include hunting, playing with his stuffed duck “Quacky,” and spending time with his people. One thing he definitely doesn’t love? Cats. After a rough run-in as a puppy, he’s held a grudge ever since. 😅

Across every Wald location, our teams continue pushing forward with a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, quality, and growth. Here’s a look at some of the great work happening throughout our facilities:

🏭 39th Street – Delivered strong Q1 operational results while continuing to prioritize safe food production and employee accountability. The team has also been busy preparing for new equipment and processes that will help support future growth.

🔧 Bridger Court – The Maintenance team continues to play a huge role in keeping operations running efficiently and successfully. Their hard work recently helped support a production record and keep the live belt running with minimal downtime.

🍕 C Street – Successfully passed its recent SQF audit with a score of 93, reinforcing the team’s commitment to food safety, quality standards, and compliance. The team also launched a new waste training program focused on reducing production waste and improving accountability, while pizza production increased from last month, thanks to improved efficiency and strong coordination.

🎉 F Street – Had plenty to celebrate this month with a special employee lunch on May 8th. Highlights included receiving an SQF audit score of 96 for the third year in a row, completing one full year without a recordable injury, celebrating Cinco de Mayo, and recognizing the moms across the facility for Mother’s Day.

📦 Mt. Pleasant – Introduced a new wrapping machine to help improve reliability and streamline operations for greater efficiency and consistency. The team is also preparing for an upcoming SQF audit and welcomed several new team members to continue strengthening the facility.

👏 We’re proud of the continued effort, teamwork, and dedication shown across every facility. Thank you to all our employees for the work you put in each day to help move Wald forward.
