Tomorrow is Memorial Day and also my birthday. 💚
Instead of gifts, I could really use a few helping hands at the farm.
Running a small alpaca farm is beautiful, rewarding, exhausting, meaningful work — and right now we are getting ready for shearing. The alpacas depend on us to keep them healthy, comfortable, and safe, and this season really takes a village of support to make everything go as smoothly and stress-free as possible for both the animals and the people caring for them.
I’m looking for a few people who would enjoy spending time with alpacas while helping with things like:• Raking up hay in pens so the alpacas don’t roll in it and get it tangled in their fiber• Helping gently hold alpacas while burrs and hay bits are picked from their fleece• General pen cleanup
Then on Tuesday, I especially need help during shearing with gathering fiber into bags as each section is shorn. It’s simple hands-on work — no special knowledge or experience needed.
Supporting a local alpaca farm means helping care for living animals and preserving valuable fiber that can be turned into products used to help feed, care for, and support the alpacas themselves. Every bit saved helps our small farm continue doing what it loves.
This isn’t the kind of experience you find just anywhere. You’ll be on the edge of the woods surrounded by peaceful animals, helping care for a small farm in a quiet, meaningful way. It’s a chance to slow down, breathe fresh air, and spend time doing something real and grounding.
No experience needed. Just kindness, patience, and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty and dusty. 🦙
Message me if you’d like to come help for even part of either day.
