Schwedhelm's Hop Yard

Schwedhelm's Hop Yard The Schwedhelm farm was established in 1991, with the Hop Yard in 2011. Includes 7 horses, 2 ponies, cattle, 2 dogs, a spread of alfalfa, and HOPS!

As local interest peaked with hop growing, we decided this could be the start to something great if not make a really good adventure for us alone and a story for our grandchildren some day. We are active members, as a Commercial Grower with the Nebraska Hop Growers Association. We find the NHGA and our involvement a way to bring awareness to hop growing; engage hop growers, brewers, and beer enthusiasts alike; and lastly for the simple fact that we enjoy and love a hard days work on the farm!

Sorry, not sorry. Yotus has been our house IPA since 2016. Brewed in the classic West Coast style, Yotus features a blend of Mosaic, Citra, Sequoia and locally-grown hops from the Bauman-Schwedhelm farms in Ft Calhoun. Celebrate National IPA Day with one.

Head brewer, John Fahrer, always says "I can't pick a favorite beer. It's like picking my favorite kid. I love them all."

John was never a hop head, but after Scriptown had been open for 2 years, we learned that we have to brew for our customers, not ourselves. You asked & we answered. We brewed our first ever IPA on April 23rd, 2016. Yotus IPA has been one of our best selling beers to date.

While he may love all of his beers, Yotus IPA holds a special place in our hearts. A childhood friend, Tim Duncan (Rest In Peace), dubbed John the nickname, Yotus, and here we are đź’›
