Scott has been treating our hives for Varroa Destructor Mites these past few weeks. He has a tool that sublimates a known mite killer -- all natural and not harmful to the bees or honey -- and shoots the v***r into the hives. There have been hundreds dropping onto the bottom boards. Scott says this is a good thing since it is killing the mites and they are dropping. It seems suspicious to me, though. They had to be there in the first place to be able to drop at all. We are praying all three hives overcome this pest and make it through the winter!
