Felix Genge, a baker, patented a wire whip used to beat eggs and batter. He came to the United States when he was just 17 and worked in a Chicago bakery before eventually winding up in Centralia. While living here, he built and owned Ideal Bakery, a business he operated for a number of years. While living in Chicago, Feliz had invented the whip, which he later patented in Washington. It was this whip that Felix's son, Harold Genge, later manufactured from Genge Manufacturing Co. in Centralia.
