We've had an extremely busy spring here on the farm. We replaced the plastic on our plant starting hoophouse, had to repair damage/holes made by woodchuck in the hoophouse, transplanted several hundred strawberries, potted up many plant starts for sale, and spent many hours in the field. We're mostly done with our spring planting and now have to remain steadfast with watering and weeding. All of this while witnessing the return of the migrating birds and the vibrant wildlife that surrounds us. It is delicious and sometimes overwhelming. I am sure you can relate.
We have been visited by so many beautiful customers/friends at the Meridian farmers market. Each week my heart is filled with friendly exchanges. It is nectar for the soul to interact with so many fine folks and to pass along our stories, wisdom, and love.
This hummingbird in the photo is one of our nearest community members and has more to offer than you can imagine. It blows my mind how each of these tiny creatures plays a pivotal role in our understanding of the world, our day to day experiences, our survival. So to you and the hummingbird, I wish you enough food to build strength and to nourish your body, beauty to foster your senses, and the unlimited knowing of the right way--following the path of our ancestors.
As the last days of spring pass, may we all cherish the wee ones who make the world go round. Keep sharing your stories and supporting your local farmers. Blessed be.
