Every spring, these blossoms mark the beginning of another apple crop — but they can’t do it alone. 🌸🐝
Pollination is one of the most important steps in growing high-quality apples. As bees and other pollinators move from flower to flower, they help each blossom develop into the fruit we harvest in the fall. Without healthy pollinator populations, there would be no apples on our trees.
Here in Western New York, we work hard to support both managed honeybees and native pollinators by protecting and creating habitat across our farm. That includes maintaining natural nesting areas, preserving hedgerows and wooded edges, planting diverse forage, and using forestry management practices that encourage healthy native bee populations year after year.
Healthy ecosystems grow healthy crops — and every blossom buzzing with life is part of that story. 🍎🌱
