4 years ago we decided that we would make my dreams come true and purchase mini highland cows. We decided to breed them so that it would offset the costs of my ever growing hobby farm. This was the day we waited for. At 11:30 this morning, Mabel graced us with a beautiful bull calf. Mabel did amazing and delivered very easily (although Dave and I were a wreck). He appears to be non-chrondro but DNA will be sent to confirm that. Welcome to the world little Briggs! It will be very hard to let this little guy go when the time comes, but this is what we signed up for. Until then, we will enjoy watching Briggs grow and Mabel being the best little mama ever.

Today was a rough day on the farm. One of the types of days that you don't talk about or see on your farm page. It's not adorable bouncing baby goats, it's not basking in the sunshine, it's not snuggles and laughter. Today was about loss. Giving your all and failing to make things better. This afternoon, we noticed one of the triplets was hunched up, crying out and weak. We brought her in the house to warm her, give her an injection of Bose and get her some milk from a bottle. She did seem to perk up after eating and even pooped and peed. In the early evening, she was weaker and crying out. We made sure her temp was normal, tried getting her sugar up with pure maple syrup on her gums and under her tongue. She didn't seem to improve. After consultation with fellow goat owners and the vet, we tubed her some milk. Our sweet little girl never perked up despite our interventions. A decision was made to keep her comfortable. I held her and Dave was close by as she passed away in my arms. We are devastated by the loss of our sweet girl. Just over 24 hours old, and we were so in love with this little girl. RIP our sweet Everlee Elizabeth White. We hope you bounced over that rainbow bridge💗💗
