Scherer Farms Custom Processing will be open for “APPOINTMENTS ONLY” on Friday, September 1st and will be closed completely that following Monday September 4th for Labor Day. Sorry for any inconveniences.
Know what you’re buying. This picture has store beef(left), and farm beef(right). There is an obvious visible difference between the two! But the differences don’t stop there!
1. You may notice in the picture the color difference. The store bought is pumped full of additives and water. There isn’t a guarantee of where that beef came from either. Yes, it may have USDA label on it but as long as that animal was packaged in the US, it can be called a Product of the USA. The meat in the package is not from one single cow, rather scraps from multiple cows. It could have came from Argentina, Canada, or Brazil.
2. The beef on the right is darker and is farm raised beef. It is filled with more nutrients & flavor. The ground is also from one cow and not just scraps from multiple cows.
3. Buying your beef from a local Farmer/Rancher you are helping to buy a little girl dance shoes or a little boy baseball gear. Buying from the store just lines the pockets of the already wealthy meat packers. Let’s help each other. We help you eat healthy, you help us provide for our families.

Scherer Farms has 5 Steers that are ready for purchase by the halves or by the whole steer. The weight is at around 1000 pounds on the hoof. That is roughly 600 pounds hanging weight. Right at the best stage for good amount of meat, without breaking the bank.

We are no longer taking deer. Also, all deer that is in our possession needs to be picked up by Jan. 31. Any deer not picked up by that date will be turned over to the game warden. Thank you all for making it another great season with us and can not wait to serve you again next deer season.

With our rush of deer about over, we are unable to take anymore orders for deer brats (cheddar or plain) and deer bacon. We will be filling all orders that has already been placed. We are just not taking any new orders for this deer season. We will still be taking in deer until the end of deer season, but the closer to the end of deer season we get, the less extra products we will be making.
Also, starting Dec. 6th we will be taking beef again.

ATTENTION DEER HUNTERS OF 2021 SEASON
We are taking deer again this season. We try to stay open Mondays thru Thursday 7am to 5pm. Our hours really depend on the amount of work we have for the week. We do have our 24 hr drop off in the back of our building for the days we are not here to help you. Has to be gutted before dropped off. Can not take quartered deer in 24 hr drop off. Happy hunting.
Saturday 1-16-2021 at 1:00pm we will not take anymore deer after that for this season. I like to thank everyone for there busy this season it’s been a great season.
We are looking at staying open 5 days a week doing processing. We will be looking to hire a few people full time. We are needing people who are quick learners and who have their own way to work. Jobs include skinning animals for processing, wrapping, grinding and stuffing.
We have made contact with everyone who order thanksgiving turkeys. If you have not heard from us we didn’t get your order.
With gun season here we will be open from 7:00a.m till 5:30 p.m. for pickup
7:00a.m.Till 7:00p.m.for drop off and we do have a 24 hour drop off for deer that still have the skin on them and is gutted
