These are the moments I live for.
Waking up before my babies and getting to just cuddle in close. The window slightly down and letting in the cool fresh air coming in. Hearing the birds, smelling the neighbors fireplace burning from a far. It’s finally fall.
Praying blessings over all of my children and husband as I lay here holding a small fraction of the blessings God has given me in my arms. Thanking Him for the new mercies this day.
This isn’t the life I saw for myself. It’s better. Because I followed and listened to what the Lord had for me instead of what I had for me. Had I followed that path I would have missed all of this.
The coffee in hand while dog piled reading books kind of mornings. The full family celebration when each child mastered the thing in school they struggled with. The evening memory verse times when we all hide the Word in our heart for a time when we need our swords. The family meal times filled with laughter. The park trips on a whim that helps us meet some sweet and amazing people. The rushing to Sunday school to be with all our blood bought family.
I could go on and on and the beauty God has made from my life. Life from ashes. And though the enemy has tried his best to come against my family I had seen God work miracles and do amazing things in my life through it all. I wait expectantly for the growth and beauty that it all has in store for us (Jeremiah 29:11)
I’m not a mountain top wife and mom. I’m the full journey mom. The hills, the valleys, the steep mountain side, I signed up for it all
Because I know the God I serve will make a way through it all and Im going to become better in the end of it all. I’m thankful for the hard, it’s what changes us best.
And Im thankful for these moments with my sweet baby on my chest. Because it all is what defines the woman God has for me to be.
