Not the update I wanted to give, but farm life is not always easy. Mama G got really sick with mastitis after she gave birth. She only birthed three alive, and one stillborn. We are not sure if she just had a small litter, or if there is some retained in her uterus. She is on antibiotics and has had oxytocin to help her get better. Unfortunately none of the piglets made it. Right now we just need prayers for Mama G.

The cycle of life is always continuing here on the farm. Judy left before the holiday to feed a family. Abby has 7 new piglets, and Mama G is due to farrow any day.
Our first litter of the year, from Daisy Mama, have all moved on to new homes and we are waiting to see if she is pregnant now. We are also pretty sure Aunt G and Georgia are pregnant.
We are hoping and praying our show pig Mamas, Buttz and Scarlett, are now pregnant with 2027 YMBL show piglets.
All 9 of MIA's piglets are in the training pen to wean and so the males can be cut. All will be ready for new homes after next week. 6 boys, 3 girls(1 girl pending a new home Saturday.)

Mama G and Abby are ready to pop, but still no piglets as of Thursday evening. I did finally get to see and feel piglets moving. We've been farrowing for over 5 years now, and this was a first for me. Thank you Mama G for letting me share that moment with you!

Exciting SURPRISE pregnancy!! Abby is due to farrow in the next 48 hours

We thought our old girl was ready to retire, but God had other plans. So happy to get another litter from her;it just may be her last. Then again she may surprise us in the future too.

Happy Mother's Day to all my Mamas!!
So far this year...Daisy Mama gave us 11 piglets on 1/31, including our 2 for Orange County Livestock Show Association. MIA gave us 9 Easter piglets. Mama G is due next week, and we will be choosing Pig Jr from her litter. Waiting to see if Aunt G and Georgia are pregnant, and Daisy Mama and Abby are in with Pig now!

Not Mamas yet, but we are also waiting to see if AI worked on Mama Buttz and Scarlett.
