The next terrific Cobra Owners Club of America Orange County event will be our annual “Concours de Nice” on Sunday, June 14th and will include a Gala luncheon and Shelby employee reunion on Saturday, June 13th at the spectacular Segerstrom Event Center in Irvine. This past weekend 5 COCOA OC members raced their club cars at the VARA Vintage races at Buttonwillow Raceway! President Hank Jesch along with John Dilauro, Randy Carr, Jay Parille and Doug Manista were racing! Weather was really nice and the racing was epic between President Hank and John Dilauro in his Yellow Mustang. Also attending were members Russ Robinson of Division 2 and Bob Stockwell as Racecraft Consultants!

First, coming up on March 14th is the Lyon Air Museum's annual Shelby Tribute. There are some special considerations you need to be aware of concerning this event. All will be revealed on Wednesday. An email update will follow with details about this Tribute as details are being finalized.

Special Announcement. - Happy Birthday to our good friend Bruce Junor. Bruce celebrated his 94th birthday on February 26th! May you celebrate many more and we look forward to hosting you again and hearing more fabulous Shelby stories from the glory years.

Tonight the Cobra Owners of America Orange County celebrated the 52nd Anniversary of the club at the Shelby Legendary Cars great facility in Irvine! The close to 100 members and guests in attendance were treated to a tasty Richard Jones Bar-B-Que Dinner with Anniversary Cake. We had a terrific presentation by Guest Speaker, J Bittle of JBA Race Shop. J also brought his Historic Trans Am Mustang and talked about his history of racing and preparing/ upgrading cars. Additionally, the club bestowed its Annual Member of the Year Award to Rebecca Hultquist for her tireless dedication as our club Secretary and major event organizer. The Cobra Club has a full calendar of great events and meetings planned for 2026, which can be found on our website— https://cocoaoc.org.

Two COCOA OC members, President, Hank Jesch and distinguished member, Randy Carr, getting their vintage Competition racing licenses this past weekend at the VARA University held at Buttonwillow Raceway! Also attending was member John Dilauro as part of the experienced group sharpening their race craft. Very foggy weather but the Sun did come out on Sunday for the final track experience!

We remember the man on this day.
Carroll Shelby, born January 11, was the inspiration for all our passion for horsepower. He was a fixture for decades at SAAC National Conventions, and always drew a crowd of admirers.
