The Spotsylvania Farmers Market is competing in the America’s Farmers Market Celebration, a national contest from American Farmland Trust—and your vote could help put our market on the national map!

Every week, our markets bring together local farmers, growers, bakers, food makers, and small businesses while giving our community a place to shop local, eat well, and connect with the people who actually grow and make our food.

A strong showing in the contest means more than bragging rights (although we are absolutely interested in those). Winning markets receive national recognition and a share of $15,000 in awards, along with opportunities for state and regional honors. That attention can help us attract even more great vendors and shoppers to Spotsylvania.

Tomorrow is market day, come by and see us at the Spotsylvania Farmers Market! Also, I talk a little about why we don’t carry “fresh, never frozen”beef! It’s my opinion freezing meats does not change anything about the meat, it just keeps you from consuming a preservative that we can’t pronounce!

Did you hear the news?? The USA is gonna create a fast line for foreign ground beef to “help farmers and ranchers”…riigghhhhttt! Want some 100% Virginia grown, USA beef?? I got it! To add to this, our chickens are hatched in WV and come to use at about 4 months old and spend their days in Orange County Virginia! No need to stress, everything we sell is local and I raised them once they get to our farm!
