💌 A new Farm Heart & Soil Update!

April brought cooler days and lots of rain. 🌧️ Luckily, our plants loved it! When it wasn’t raining, we spent many hours getting the field prepped and planted for summer with tomatoes, watermelon, summer squash, cucumbers, and more!

We also kicked off the first phase of our on-site composting program, taking waste from our farm and any from our food bank and turning it into nutrient-rich compost.

The month’s highlights:
🧑‍🌾 997 pounds of fresh produce harvested and shared with our community.
🌱 Plenty of tarragon, chives, lettuce, and chard.
💚 346 volunteer hours helping care for the farm.

Instead of our normal Farmstand hours, we’ll be out across Orangevale, Fair Oaks, and Citrus Heights serving alongside hundreds of incredible volunteers helping make a difference throughout our community. 🙌
