I’m headed to Market in the Mountains this weekend in Washington State, and I’ve got 9 reasons why. 🎄⛰️ (Swipe to the end. #9 is my favorite.)
1️⃣ A girls’ weekend, out of the norm. No schedules, no chores, just time with some of my favorite friends.
2️⃣ Christmas shopping from local makers. I’m skipping the big box stores this year and checking off my list with gifts made by real people and families that my purchase directly impacts.
3️⃣ Seeing a fellow ag producer diversify. Jessica’s found creative ways to bring new income to her farm so it’s still around for the next generation. That’s the future of agriculture.
4️⃣ Great food & drink. And for just a few days, nobody’s asking me what’s for dinner.
5️⃣ A fun local Airbnb. Slow mornings with coffee on the front porch, catching up on life.
6️⃣ Sleeping in. And then sitting in bed without moving for a full thirty minutes. In peace. With nowhere to be. No event to get to in time. 😂
7️⃣ Uninterrupted conversation. No kids. Just real conversation around the table, or relaxing in bed and real time to bond, even if it’s only for a weekend.
8️⃣ Supporting another ag producer. Watching another woman in agriculture dream big, scary dreams and make them happen inspires me. It’s what we’re working toward at Thomas Cattle Co. too. We’re all in this together to be able to pass agriculture opportunities down to future generations.
9️⃣ Seth surprised me. I told my girlfriends I couldn’t make it this year. Then Seth bought the trip and planned the whole thing with them behind my back. ❤️ Thank you, Seth!
