Oregon House, CA Ohana Mini Farm is our real-life Green Acres reboot—minus the laugh track and with plenty of eggs. In 2023, we began a new chapter centered on growing our own food and learning as we go. Our chickens free-range like tiny landlords, our ducks and geese keep things lively, and our gardens do their best work under the California sun. We are a Christian family guided by Bible principles and the spirit of aloha: living with kindness, love, and respect for people, animals, and the land. Our mission is to be good stewards, raise happy birds, and share wholesome eggs, fresh vegetables, and flowers—especially sunflowers, because they just can’t help but make you smile. For now, our focus is poultry, waterfowl, veggies, and sunflowers—simple, intentional, and done well. Productive, sustainable, and efficient is the goal; joy in the journey is the rule. Pull up a crate—there’s always a story, a smile, and something fresh from the farm, offered with aloha.

🐥 Welcome, little farmhands! 🐥

We’ve added 20 new chicks to the Ohana Mini Farm family, locally raised by Hens, Hooves and Honey Farm!

Hatched on August 17, these future flock members include a colorful mix of Easter Eggers, Ermine Ameraucanas, Olive Eggers and brown-egg layers. Once they mature, we’re hoping for a beautiful basket filled with sage, mint green, olive and rich brown eggs. 🥚💚🤎

We love supporting another local farm while investing in the future of our own. For now, their job description includes eating, growing and being ridiculously cute. Eventually, they’ll help keep our community supplied with fresh, locally raised eggs!

🌿 Local farms make the best meals

One of my favorite things about getting a local Yes charter CSA box from is opening it up and figuring out what delicious meal is going to come from it.

This week our box included a recipe for Greek Potato Salad, and of course we had to give it a try!

Fresh potatoes, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, herbs, olives, capers and a simple olive oil and vinegar dressing all came together beautifully. And we topped it off with fresh eggs from Ohana Mini Farm. 🥚🌿

There is just something different about cooking with ingredients grown and raised by local farmers. You know where your food came from, you’re supporting families in your own community, and—most importantly—it tastes so good.

This one is definitely going into the make again pile. The bowl didn’t stand much of a chance. 😂

Thank you to all of our local farmers who helped grow tonight’s dinner. Supporting local really can be this delicious. ❤️

Every morning starts with the same goal—happy hens and a fresh start to the day. 🐔❤️

Come along for a little behind-the-scenes look at our morning chore routine as we get the girls fed, watered, and ready for another day of free-ranging and (hopefully!) filling the nesting boxes. 🥚

👀 And don’t miss the special guests making a cameo… our newest barn cats! They’re still kittens, but they’re already in training for their future farm jobs. Safe to say they’re taking their responsibilities very… playfully. 😸🐾

🐣 Big news from Ohana Mini Farm! 🐣

Our farm family just got a little bigger! We’re so excited to welcome these adorable new baby chicks to Ohana Mini Farm. They may be tiny now, but before long they’ll be scratching around, growing strong, and becoming part of the flock that helps provide fresh farm goodness to our community.

A huge thank you to for these beautiful little ones! We truly appreciate your kindness and are looking forward to watching them thrive here on the farm. 💛

Here’s to new beginnings, happy peeps, and another chapter in the Ohana story. Stay tuned as we share their journey from fluffy chicks to full-grown hens!

What an incredible evening at Ohana Mini Farm! 🌻🐓

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out for our farm tour. It was such a pleasure meeting fellow farmers, gardeners, community members, and our wonderful neighbors who stopped by to say hello. We truly appreciate you taking the time to visit, ask questions, and share in our passion for local agriculture.

A very special mahalo to Paul and Gabe for organizing this event, and to Eli, Virginia and Hope for being such an important part of the team. Your dedication to bringing our local farming community together is truly appreciated.

We’re excited for the upcoming Yuba Water Food Festival and are already looking forward to the next growers’ meeting, where we’ll have the opportunity to visit and support another local farm. One of the best parts of this group is learning from each other and celebrating the incredible farms that make our community so special.

In the meantime, enjoy a little behind-the-scenes look at one of our favorite evening routines—putting the ducks to bed. 🦆💛 It’s a peaceful way to end a busy day on the farm.
