We need to address a serious issue that has been occurring at The Sunny Side Stop.
Recently, we have experienced multiple shortages in payments, and today we even received counterfeit money.
We have worked incredibly hard to build a place where our community can shop locally, support small businesses, and enjoy the convenience of an honor-system farm stand. Unfortunately, the actions of a few individuals are beginning to jeopardize that.
Let us be very clear: Theft, intentional underpayment, and the use of counterfeit money will not be tolerated.
We also want to remind everyone that The Sunny Side Stop is equipped with professional security monitoring and high-quality surveillance cameras both inside and outside the store. Activity throughout the property is monitored and recorded, and we have the ability to review footage when discrepancies or suspicious incidents occur.
Appropriate action involving local law enforcement has already been taken regarding these incidents, and we will continue to involve law enforcement and pursue appropriate action should any further incidents occur. We take these matters extremely seriously.
The Sunny Side Stop operates on trust. When someone takes advantage of that trust, they are not just hurting our business. They are affecting the many local vendors, families, and customers who depend on and support this little shop.
If these incidents continue, we may be forced to reconsider how we operate, including whether we can continue offering the same convenient, self-serve shopping experience. It would be incredibly disappointing to see something that so many people enjoy taken away because of the dishonest actions of a few.
To the overwhelming majority of our customers who continue to shop honestly and support us, we sincerely appreciate you!! We do not take your support for granted. ❤️
Please do not let the actions of a few ruin something special for everyone.
