Farming isn’t for everyone. It’s not for the faint of heart. The days are long, the nights are short, and the to-do list never really ends. Pruning, thinning, sorting, fixing lines… fighting off bugs and disease while still trying to keep things as natural as possible. It’s 2 a.m. irrigation turns and 5 a.m. truck loads for market. It’s pruning in the cold of December just to be ready by March.
But man… it’s an incredible way of life.
There’s nothing like putting in the work and watching something come to life. Caring for it, nurturing it, and finally picking that first sweet, juicy peach of the season. Even more than that, it’s watching your kids and grandkids learn what hard work really means—how to stick with something until it’s done. Time spent together as a family, cousins running around the orchard… that’s everything to us. This is a fully family-run orchard. It’s not just what we do—it’s who we are.
The hard part is, no matter how much you do, you can’t control Mother Nature.
After a mild winter and an early bloom in March, we knew right away this season could go either way. You put your head down, do everything you can, and then you hope… and you pray. Sometimes it works out. Sometimes it doesn’t.
This year hit us really hard. Like many orchards across Utah, our orchard took a big loss. While we are fairly confident and grateful we will still have something, it’s going to be a very light season. So now we wait and see.
We truly appreciate all the messages, support, and prayers—it means more than you know. You are a big part of why we do this. We love serving our community, the relationships we’ve built, and seeing you all each season.
Thank you for being part of our Pyne family.
