Lost a chicken to fly strike today. We culled her after I spent most of the day trying to save her. Truly one of the most horrific and awful things I’ve ever dealt with and I’m not squeamish. Maggots are disgusting.

Linaria is my new to me favorite flower. Easy to start from seed, cut and come again spring until frost, 7–10 days in the vase, look like tiny snapdragons, give that airy, floaty feel to bouquets. Just love this flower.

Just planted a beautiful Golden Deodar Cedar. This fast growing evergreen has a gorgeous weeping habit and at maturity will top out at 30’ tall by 15’ wide. Next to a Rock Rose and a Mirror Plant both of which get 5x5, this side of the chicken run which faces the road, should be screened in no time.
