After 39 years of marriage, she filed for divorce. He refused to let her go without a fight.
In the summer of 2024, Linda Mathis separated from Judge Greg Mathis and filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Married since 1985, they have four children together.
Judge Mathis said the separation hit him like losing his mother.
"I'd do anything to get my mother back. So I did anything to get my wife back."
Within months, they were back together. Linda said they "did a lot of work" and "learned each other again."
"We enjoyed our time doing that, each and every day," she said. "Every day has been just wonderful."
Linda later dismissed the divorce case for good. They've also talked openly about the hard times they survived together, from food stamps to bankruptcy.
