An absolute highlight of our recent trip to England was getting to visit SD Farms and spend time with the Downs, learning about the traditional way the family has bred these horses for generations. We can't thank Dixie Down, Bonny, and Steve enough for their warm welcome and generous hospitality. ♥

Coming up: side by side pics of our imported mare SD Kala (Lottie) and her dam, SD Peggy's Mum, whom we met last week! 🦄🤩

I am relieved to report that all the critters at Almost Heaven Vanners, LLC are safe and sound here on the farm, if a little worse for the wear from the torrential storms. Our hearts go out to those who are experiencing the worst of it in Weston and Buckhannon. If anyone is aware of how we can assist with displaced animals please contact us.

Asa! ❤️ Thank you Triple M Performance Horses. What a show - shew. 🥲

Stardust's Spice Girl, better known as "Asa," proved that the girls can hold their own! 🌟🐴

As the only mare on the Triple M show string at Magnolia in the Mountains, Asa had an incredible week full of firsts. This was her first show of the season, her first show under saddle, and her first dressage tests. Considering she has only been under saddle for a short time, we could not be more proud of how she handled herself.

What makes Asa so special is her calm willingness to tackle whatever challenge is put in front of her. She approaches every new lesson with confidence and has an incredible intelligence that allows her to pick things up so quickly. Every ride seems to bring another breakthrough, and that has us very excited about her future.

Asa's results:
🏅 4–5 Year Old Mares – 1st & 2nd
🏅 Western Pleasure WJ Novice – 1st & 1st
🏅 Western Pleasure WJ Jr – 4th & 4th
🏅 Jr In-Hand Trail – 5th & 6th
🏅 Western Dressage Intro 1 (Saturday) – 2nd
🏅 Western Dressage Intro 1 (Sunday) – 3rd

While we love the ribbons, what impressed us most was Asa's attitude throughout the week. She walked into every new experience with a willing mind and a kind heart, and that's exactly the foundation we hope to build on.

Congratulations to Almost Heaven Vanners on a wonderful weekend with this talented young mare. We can't wait to see where her journey takes her next!

Phantom the barn cat, gazing at his first love.

We are exhausted, elated from the show, and glad to be home to see that every little soul at is safe and happy. 😌

Thanks to Jena Whiston and Iz! ❤️
